Service

Haven Home, Safe (HHS) provides help and housing to strengthen Victorian communities, prevent homelessness and end housing stress.

Services provided

• Financial assistance. This includes Emergency Relief (ER), Housing Establishment Fund (HEF) and the Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP).
• Case Coordination. This includes the Community Connections Program (CCP), Housing Access Program, Intensive Case Management (ICMI), Tenancy Plus (Mildura only), Supporting Families at Risk (SFAR), and the Homeless Case Coordination Team. Also Place For Change, PRAP Plus, Housing Support for the Aged (HSA), Supporting Connections Program (SCP), Assistance with Care and Housing (ACH), Homelessness Flood Response Program (HFRP), and prison housing support.
• Housing Support. This includes limited Emergency Accommodation, Transitional Housing, support to obtain long-term housing, Information on how to apply for the Victorian Housing Register (VHR) and disability housing.
• Outreach services which includes the HeyVan (Bendigo) and HeyYou-t (Swan Hill).

Eligibility criteria

Anyone in the Loddon region who is over the age of 20 years old, is eligible for support.

Referral pathway

To access financial assistance, case coordination and housing support services:

• If a family is a current HHS client, a referral from their existing HHS support worker is needed, or
• If a family is a new client, they (or a support person) need to ring 1300 428 364 to make an Initial Assessment & Planning appointment at the HHS office.
