Aboriginal Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program

The MCH service is a free service available to all Babies/Children who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander from pregnancy to school age.

It provides a choice for families to access the MCH service at the local Aboriginal community-controlled organisation. The service is welcoming, respectful, and safe. It is tailored towards individual needs, providing continuity of care and support.

BDAC’s MCHS will offer:

  • Key age stage (KAS) consults based on growth and development,
  • Referrals within BDAC or to other health agencies,
  • Early years information on health and development,
  • Immunisations will be offered and given on KAS consults,
  • ‘Boorai Yarns’, a parents group for ALL new babies and their families, and more

Target Population
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families.
