Funding Model

This is an FFS practice. Families wanting to access this service will need to:

  • Self-fund and obtain a reimbursement from their private health insurance provider (if covered),
  • Access Medicare funding (such as using a Chronic Disease Management Plan), or
  • Use NDIS funding.

Service Provided

For Pre-School and School age children Bendigo Speech Works provides:

  • Assessment and treatment of paediatric developmental language and articulation delays
  • Intervention for literacy difficulties
  • Therapy and support for children with hearing impairments
  • Assessment and treatment of children with Autism, Downs Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy
  • Evidence based therapy for stuttering and voice disorders
  • Experience working with children and teenagers affected by acquired brain injury.
  • Development of programs to assist with social skills development, including paired or small group sessions.
  • Development of individualised Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems to support communication.
  • Assessment and treatment of infant feeding and swallowing associated with oro-motor difficulties

Target Population

Children aged 0-7

Eligible Criteria

Vulnerable children and those with swallowing difficulties are triaged.
