VMCH Support for Carers Program offers a range of individually tailored support services for people who are caring for a loved one with additional needs.
The program supports people who provide practical support to someone with care needs – including those with mental illness, dementia, disabilities, chronic conditions or illnesses as well as older people or people who are palliative.
Case managers take the time to understand the stressors experienced by individual carers in order to identify what support services are right for the individual, and also check in from time to time to assist with adjusting support as needs change.
We also offer opportunities for carers to connect with others in similar circumstances with a full calendar of events running across the state. This includes peer groups, as well as more casual events like a trip to the movies or dinners out. Please see the MVCH program calendar online for more information.
